Diethylene Glycol(DEG)

Product Applications

Diethylene glycol can be used as an extraction solvent for aromatic hydrocarbons, a solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, and rubber, and a raw material for antifreeze and brake fluids.

It is also widely used in the coatings, textile, dyeing and printing, papermaking, leather, printing ink, and metalworking industries.

DEG is commonly used as a textile auxiliary, hygroscopic softening agent, plasticizer for rubber and resins, and gas dehydrating agent. It is also used in inks, adhesives, and as a raw material for various organic synthesis intermediates.

Diethylene glycol (DEG), also known as diethylene glycol, has the chemical formula C₄H₁₀O₃ and a molecular weight of 106.12.

It is used as a solvent, extraction agent, and hygroscopic drying agent. In printing inks, it is also used as a humectant and softening agent.

DEG can be used in antifreeze, brake fluids, and gas dehydration systems. It is an upstream glycol ether product related to triethylene glycol, offering strong moisture absorption and solvency, together with a notable cost advantage.

Diethylene glycol has a higher hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value than triethylene glycol, making it relatively more hydrophilic.
